Behind the Book: Poppy & Rye

At the very end of Poppy—the first book I wrote in the Poppy Series, there is a jump ahead in her life where we learn, briefly, that Poppy is married and has a husband named Rye. How that came about, I wrote then, is “Another Story.”

I must have had some story in mind because I would never have set that down. But—over the next few years I forgot that story. Instead—three years later—I created a whole new story that became Poppy and Rye.

Sometimes I wonder what that first story was. Oh, well. This is a good one.
