A Literary Game

Jacob, from Los Angeles, asked me if I have written any mysteries.

Actually, Jacob, I have written quite a few.  My very first novel was No More Magic, a mystery, which was a runner-up for an Edgar Award, best mystery of the year, when it was first published. Then there were these:

Avi's Mysteries

Who Stole The Wizard of Oz?
The Traitors’ Gate
The Man Who Was Poe
Wolf Rider
Midnight Magic
Murder at Midnight
City of Orphans

Catch You Later, TraitorAnd now, Catch You Later, Traitor

I find them particularly enjoyable to write, and a real challenge. I think of them as a kind of game, a literary game, which the writer plays with the reader. Some readers like to outguess the writer, but there are those who enjoy being surprised. I think my mystery with the biggest plot surprise is The Traitors Gate. It was particularly fun to write.
